So I’ve been playing in my band The Fitted Shirt again. It’s been so much fun! I’m playing mostly lead guitar(electric). Dan’s letting me use his pedalboard, since he uses the on board effects from his amp. One thing I’ve been thinking about is how much fun it is to play new venue’s. We played in Milford a few weeks ago(1 week after I joined the band and learned all the songs and didn’t practice with the band!) and this coming Saturday we’re playing at The Jam Factory in Manchester.
Fun things about playing at new venues!
- I never know who’s going to be there, are there regulars? Fans of other bands? No one?
- I never know what the atmosphere will be like.
- I never know how much space I’ll have to rock out. How can I best entertain the crowd with the space that I have?
- How are the other bands? Fun? Energetic? New friends?
All this uncertainty mixed with the certainty that I bring with me of knowing all my parts makes for a great mix of fun and awesomeness!!! If you’d like to share some awesomeness, come check out the show!
