The Fitted Shirt – Hibernation – Currently in Post-production

I’m producing, engineering, and mixing this album from the band that I played with for a while in 2009. I play drums, guitars, and sing back up on a few of the tracks. Expected finish date of 2010. We’re currently mixing it(11/09).

Demos 2009

2009 introduced yet another direction for Vigor. The beautiful thing about a one man band is that it can change whenever you want it to! I spent a good part of 09 playing with The Fitted Shirt. In the fall I quit the band and explored new adventures in music, as expressed in this post. While only completing 2 demo’s in 09, I recorded about 4 or 5 more that were never finished. Somewhere around late fall, I got into playing guitar and piano just to play, with no intention of writing songs. It’s extremely fun and relaxing!

Demos 2008

2008 brought with it a new direction for Vigor. Megan shared lyric writing duties, giving me more time to be inspired and focus on coming up with great music and voice leads. She would explain how she wanted a song to sound, give me the lyrics, then be baffled with what I came up with musically for it. Less songs, better quality, that’s the way we roll.

Demos 2007

In early 2007, I had surgery on my neck, rendering me near voiceless. I was told that my singing voice would come back, but it would take a while. I told this to Megan and she stepped up to the plate with the force of a million grand slams. She sang my songs for me and started writing her own lyrics. She would write some lyrics and give them to me, and then I’d come up with some music and voice leads to fit them too. Needless to say, Vigor had become about us creating music together and she was now a part of the band. By the end of the year I was recording my voice again. To my surprise, it came back better than ever!

Demos 2006

2006 was the year when Megan started working with me.  I spent half of my musical energy finding parts for her to sing anywhere I could. I wrote all her parts and voice leads. As she got comfortable she started to change some of the voice leads and make them her own. I got to try my hand at writing lyrics for someone else. I sat down and learned about the situation that she wanted to sing about, and wrote some music and lyrics. The song that was written for the both of us to sing, “Atado Com Vocé”, was the first of what would become yearly duets.  Little did I know, this was the beginning of something awesome. Enjoy!
